Math 399:

In this class we will continue to explore aspects of real analysis, studying more difficult mathematical concepts and material at a graduate level. These will include finding examples and counter-examples of the theorems studied to understand the importance of each hypothesis, and in-depth study of Series and Lebesgue Integrability.

Math 499:

In this class we will explore advanced aspects of complex analysis, studying more difficult mathematical concepts and material at a graduate level. These will include finding examples and counter-examples of the theorems studied to understand the importance of each hypothesis, and in-depth study of the behavior of complex analytic functions versus real analytic functions. We will study the "oddities" of Complex Analysis and their applications in Fourier Analysis etc.

In this class we will have tremendous fun learning about the rigorous treatment of basic complex analysis: complex numbers, analytic functions, Cauchy integral theory and its consequences, power series, residue calculus, harmonic functions, and conformal mappings.
